Placings 1st – 6th, awards will consist of paper or used commercial ribbons. Used rosettes to champions/reserves and grands/reserves. We hope to have special awards for grands/reserves. Full results will be emailed to all. Or bring SASE to the show for results.

Entries are limited due to space (we can fit in approximately 12-15 people). Last year, we needed to juggle a little so we could allow everyone to enter the divisions they wanted, so we may have to ask people to come just for the morning or afternoon show sessions, however, everyone will be welcome for lunch. You will be assigned a space for your models of no more than 12" x 24". You may have space on a kitchen counter, on a bookshelf, table or similar area. No more than 35 models per person. Limit of six models per person per class. You are encouraged to bring a towel, sheet, or something soft to lay your models on.

Entry fee: $30/person – enter as many divisions as you want (don’t forget the total 35 model limit per person)! If you volunteer to judge, deduct $5 per division judged. Check/MO should be sent, and made payable to Susan Hurst. Proceeds from this show go to the MAR 2006 Awards fund. Money received after 12/26 must include an additional $5 late entry fee, and must be made by Money Order. Proxy entries are accepted for those who cannot attend - $2/model.

Anyone want to judge? We would have to know immediately, so NAMHSA can be notified so the proper number of cards can be sent. Don’t forget, you will receive $5 off your entry fee for each division judged.

Tags: Each entrant will provide two business card sized pieces of paper to be placed with their models when they are put in the ring to be judged (this is because of the double judging). The judges will collect the cards for the models they place, noting the placing on the card, and stapling all cards together for each class. Please neatly print your initials and model’s name on one side, and the model’s breed and gender on the other. Cards will not be needed for callbacks. Models will also need a tag attached to aid judges during callbacks, and to avoid confusion when you pick your models up after each class (you wouldn’t want to mistake someone else’s similar model to your own by accident!).

*App/Appy, Paint/Pinto and QH/Solid Stock Type Classes: NEW!! In the real horse world, the AQHA has dropped the restriction against white in the Quarter Horse. There are also other stock type breeds that can be patterned, such as stock type Mustangs (solid, appy and pinto) and Colorado Rangerbreds. These classes will still be judged on breed standards and conformation, but we wanted to try out this split to account for coat colors to group "like" stock horses together. We know this is new, so please feel free to ask questions if needed, including asking the judges which class to put a model in if it does not obviously fit into one of these categories.

OF/CG China: While we know it’s been popular to split custom glazed (CG) china into a separate division, the limited number of CG entries for this show in the past do not warrant the continuation of a separate division. However, if more than 6 each of CG and OF models are entered in any class in this division, the class will be split and judged separately.

Lunch is a Pot Luck! Some breakfast munchies will be available. Lunch (chili and salad) will be provided. Please bring your own beverage, and something to contribute to the pot luck that goes with chili/salad (i.e., grated cheese, cornbread, chips, sour cream, dressing, dessert). Let Susan know what you will be bringing so we may avoid duplication.

Susan, Betsy, judges and the show committee may not be held responsible for any lost, broken or missing property, or injury to any participants. Enter and bring yourself and your models at your own risk. Entry into the show means you accept this.

Directions: Do not use Mapquest/etc. for directions. There are THREE 1622 Chesapeake Dr. in Edgewater. The online directions will take you to the wrong one!

From DC take 50 east, exit on 665 Aris T Allen Blvd. at Annapolis. From the north or west, take 97 and exit on 665 Aris T Allen Blvd. You will then exit (to the right) onto Rt. 2 South. Stay on Rt. 2 about 3 miles – you’ll cross over the South River Bridge, and pass some fast food places and gas stations. Stay to the left. At the light at Mayo Rd., make a left. Proceed on Mayo, go through one traffic light, and soon after make a left on Oakwood Rd. Go about 6-8 blocks, make a right on Chesapeake Dr. – there’s a small white house on cinder block "stilts" on this corner. 1622 is on the right, about 8 houses in. It’s a two-story, blue-sided house. Phone number: 410-956-3132.

We know it’s winter, and we’ll probably get snow this season. If weather is iffy, check your email – we’ll keep everyone apprised of what the situation is like, and any contingency plans if necessary.

There are five cats on the premises! Several of them usually hide during these events, those that do not will be confined so they do not parade through our tables and show rings!
